Frequently Asked Questions
The Answers You're Looking For
1. What services does ThriveFocus Counseling offer?
ThriveFocus Counseling, PLLC provides individual, couples, premarital, family, and group counseling, along with intensive outpatient services. We also offer clinical supervision, workplace wellness, training, and organizational consultation. Availability depends on the service and clinician.
2. How do I know if counseling or coaching is right for me?
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Share what you’re looking for through our secure Request Services form, and we’ll help identify an appropriate service and clinician based on your needs, preferences, and availability.
3. Is what I say during my treatment confidential?
Your privacy matters. Information shared in therapy is protected, with certain legal and safety-related exceptions. Your clinician will explain confidentiality, its limits, and how it applies to your services before treatment begins. You’re welcome to ask questions at any time.
Individual, couples, and premarital counseling sessions are generally 60 minutes. Family therapy, diagnostic evaluations, and standard group sessions are generally 50 minutes. Initial consultations are 15 minutes. IOP follows a separate program schedule. We’ll confirm the length when scheduling.
4. How long is each counseling or coaching session?
5. What should I expect during the first session?
Your first session is a chance to discuss what brings you to therapy, what matters to you, and what you hope will change. Your clinician will review relevant history, explain their approach, and work with you to identify goals and next steps. You don’t need to arrive with a perfect explanation of what you’re experiencing.
6. How do I get started?
Select Request Services and complete our secure Carepatron form. We’ll review your needs, clinician availability, and payment options, then contact you about next steps. For IOP, use the dedicated form on our IOP page.
7. What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We understand that unexpected situations arise. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling. A $75 fee may apply to late cancellations or missed appointments, subject to your signed financial agreement and applicable payer rules. Medicaid clients are not charged missed-appointment fees. Contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.
8. Where can I receive services?
ThriveFocus offers secure telehealth services for clients located in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Availability depends on the individual clinician’s license or authorization to practice where you are physically located during your session. We’ll confirm eligibility when reviewing your request.
